WATER MATTRESSES MADE OF PHTHALATE FREE VINYL
 

Already in 2000 Akva Waterbeds introduced the phthalate free softener Mesamoll (today Mesamoll II) into the production of water mattresses. As a result, Akva was the first manufacturer of water mattresses made of phthalate free vinyl which has achieved the highest Eco-Tex Standard 100 certification. In a project supported by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, Akva, in addition, has collaborated with suppliers and the Danish Institute of Technology in developing and documenting the characteristics of phthlatate free vinyl for water mattresses.

 Tests from the German company Lanxess (former Bayer AG) document that water mattresses made of phthalate free vinyl are more stable and durable than water mattresses made of traditional vinyl. This means that Akva's water mattresses have a longer life cycle, while also giving increased consideration to the environment. 

So the use of the environmentally friendly softener in the production of Akva's water mattresses has also lead to an increased satisfaction among our customers, who want a safe sleep environment free of harmful substances. 

The environmentally friendly softener is also approved for products that come into contact with foodstuffs and products used in toys.
